DESCRIPTION:Faced with global challenges\, such as climate change\, strate
gies to mitigate damage and foster more sustainable lifestyles are greatly
needed. Improving on\, for instance\, clean technology is only one piece
of the puzzle\, key psychological and behavioural aspects need to be consi
dered. Understanding why humans do or do not engage in sustainability is a
crucial part of tackling the environmental crisis. My research investigat
es three aspects that influence the psychology of environmental decision m
aking and sustainability: _individual factors_ – such as emotions\, _soc
ial factors_ – such as the ways in which the behaviour of others shapes
our own\, and _contextual factors_ – such as how the content and framing
of information that we are exposed to influence us. My work on these aspe
cts aims to offer both theoretically and practically relevant insights. It
seeks to help us understand what shapes and motivates pro-environmental b
ehaviour as well as uncover potential avenues for positive social and envi
 ronmental change.
