DESCRIPTION:Autistic people are still facing challenges accessing essentia
l services despite rising rates of autism diagnosis in recent years. To be
tter understand the experiences of autistic people in Europe when attempti
ng to access services\, we conducted the Access to Services in Europe (ACC
ESS-EU) survey in 2020-2022. The study investigated whether autistic peopl
e of all ages in Europe had or had not been successful in accessing a vari
ety of services\, including mental health and financial services\, and the
quality of services acquired. In this talk\, results on how well autistic
people could access services in Europe as well as reasons perceived to un
derlie their unsuccessful access to services will be presented.
