DESCRIPTION:I will present some results of our wide field survey brown dwa
rf search.\nBrown dwarfs are in many ways the link between stars and plane
ts and\ntheir atmospheres\, dominated by broad molecular absorption bands\
, are\ncloser to planetary atmospheres than to stellar one.\nWe are lookin
g for ultracool brown dwarfs\, whose effective temperature\nis below 700K\
, using Wircam and MegaCam cameras on the CFHT telescope.\nBrown dwarfs s
tands out among the millions of sources on the images\nbecause of their ex
tremely red colours. Our objectives are to constrain\nultracool atmosphere
physics by finding a large sample of cool objects\nand to put the\nfirs
t constraints on the ultracool brown dwarf mass function.\n\nAfter a gener
al introduction to brown dwarfs and wide fields surveys\, I\nwill describe
our brown dwarfs selection techniques and present the\nspectra of some of
the coolest brown dwarfs known to science.
