DESCRIPTION:I will explain how to prove an analogue in the ``completely\ns
 plit'' Hilbert case of a result of Buzzard and Taylor about two-dimensiona
 l Artin representations and weight one forms\, and prove new cases of the 
 strong Artin conjecture for totally odd\, two-dimensional ``icosahedral'' 
 representations of the absolute Galois group of a totally real field.
