DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will explain how to count maps from a fixed g
enus g curve to blow-ups of projective spaces. Such counts are referred to
as the Tevelev degrees of the variety. I will discuss the relationship be
tween the virtual and enumerative counts\, as well as the connection betwe
en the stability (w.r.t. the curve class) of the tangent bundle of the var
iety and the vanishing of these degrees. If time permits\, I will introduc
e a modification of the moduli space of quasi-maps\, which computes the en
 umerative invariants for these blow-ups.
