SUMMARY:Producing carbon nanotubes and hydrogen from natural gas: can foss
il fuels assist the energy transition? - Jack Peden\, Department of Engine

DESCRIPTION:The transition towards a low greenhouse gas economy requires a
shift to CO2-free sources of energy and materials. We have developed a pr
ocess that converts methane (natural gas) into hydrogen and high-performan
ce carbon nanotube materials. By liberating hydrogen as a low greenhouse g
as fuel and sequestering carbon in high value materials\, we believe this
process is an exciting step towards reducing the environmental impact of e
 nergy and material production.
