DESCRIPTION:The next generation of space-based galaxy surveys (e.g. Euclid
) will provide transformative data for cosmology and astrophysics in the
coming years. While waiting for these new data\, we can use the last gener
ation of space missions to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. In t
his talk I will present the work that went into the creation of Quaia\, th
e largest cosmological sample of QSOs constructed to date derived from dat
a of the Gaia mission. I will show how we used this catalog in combination
with measurements of the CMB to constrain a wide set of problems ranging
from the physics of inflation to galaxy formation. If time allows\, I will
also discuss how Euclid data can be used to answer to similar scientific
 questions.
