DESCRIPTION:We present recent mathematical progress regarding BKL’s prop
 osal regarding approach to (spacelike) singularities. In particular\, we p
 resent evidence that the spacetime dynamics within light cones emanating f
 rom different points on the singularity may decouple\, even within the pre
 sence of “BKL bounces” between different Kasner epochs.
