DESCRIPTION:Laurie Friday will talk about the work of the Cambridge Centre
  for Landscape Regeneration. The Fens of East Anglia are at a cross-roads:
  will the current practices of systematic drainage and open-field arable p
 roduction be possible in a future dominated by rising sea-level\,  uncert
 ain water supply and a continuing loss of biodiversity? Or are alternative
  scenarios possible whereby water is managed differently for the benefit o
 f nature\, for keeping the peat in the soil\, and at the same time allowin
 g for food production and thriving communities?
