DESCRIPTION:Roundtable Theme: How to Engage as a Heritage Researcher?\n\nT
his roundtable welcomes graduate students conducting research on Asia's he
ritage to discuss key issues encountered during fieldwork under the discip
linary framework of Heritage Studies. In particular\, we aim to explore ch
allenges such as:\n\n·Difficulties in applying Western-centric research m
ethods and concepts in Asian contexts: theoretical bias\, linguistic and e
pistemic barriers\, and limited inclusion\n\n·Challenges in establishing
cooperation with local communities and institutions\n\n·The complexities
of studying heritage in societies with different cultural\, social\, and h
istorical frameworks.\n\nThe goal of this session is to articulate these c
hallenges and foster dialogue around pragmatic approaches to studying Asia
’s heritage within the broader framework of Heritage Studies.\n\nIf you
are interested in sharing your experiences or simply joining the conversat
ion\, please RSVP by replying to gyk20@cam.ac.uk. For any questions\, feel
  free to reach out.\n
