DESCRIPTION:Fiber-optic sensors are promised candidates as sensor elements
in structural health monitoring (SHM). Distributed fiber-optic sensors ha
ve been especially attractive for people in the field of SHM. We have deve
loped distributed fiber-optic sensors for strain measurements and have app
lied them to SHM of marine vessels\, aircrafts\, infrastructures and so on
. Recently\, we are developing digital twin to reconstruct the deformation
and stress states in structures. In this presentation\, our past and rece
nt works on distribute strain sensing and its application will be reviewed
 .
