DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will present a model of a branching random wa
 lk with overpopulation dynamics. Specifically\, when there are at least k&
 nbsp\;particles at a site\, every k-tuple annihilates itself at rate 1. We
  demonstrate that for k&ge\;3 on a regular tree\, the model exhibits a non
 -monotone phase transition. More precisely\, the process survives with pos
 itive probability at both low and high branching rates but becomes extinct
  for intermediate branching rates. Time permitting\, I will also discuss a
  model with similar phase transition on Z^d. This is based on joint work w
 ith Alexandre Stauffer (King's College London) and Thomas Finn (former Dur
 ham University).\n&nbsp\;
