DESCRIPTION:In accordance with the Langlands philosophy\, Arthur outlined 
 a conjectural description of the discrete part of the automorphic spectrum
  in terms of "A-parameters". We will explain his conjecture and present a 
 proof\, in certain cases\, for the least degenerate non-tempered A-paramet
 ers on the split group G₂. Joint work with Siyan Daniel Li-Huerta\, Peta
 r Bakić\, and Naomi Sweeting.
