DESCRIPTION:Measuring the electromagnetic moments of the tau lepton tests
fundamental principles of the Standard Model and discrepancies between mea
surement and theoretical prediction could reveal new physics. However\, th
ey are challenging to measure due to the short tau lifetime - seven orders
of magnitude shorter than the muon. In this seminar I will discuss how re
cent advances using the LHC as a photon collider have enabled the first ne
w constraints on the tau magnetic moment (‘g-2’) for nearly two decade
 s.
