DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will reflect on how the concept of Holonic Syst
 ems - the notion of constructing complex systems through the dynamic organ
 isation of multiple autonomous and cooperative entities (Holons) - has inf
 luenced my research into human-system and human-technology integration in 
 operational environments. I will present a software platform tailored to s
 upporting this human integration\, show some applications of my research i
 n different domains (including manufacturing\, mining and maritime) and di
 scuss the future research directions I intend to pursue at the Institute f
 or Manufacturing\, such as: Developing and leveraging an augmented workfor
 ce\; and Enabling Human-AI collaboration in operational environments.\n\nT
