DESCRIPTION:Cosmological surveys are sensitive to the evolution of our Uni
 verse over billions of years\, from the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) 
 very early on\, to the complex structures we see today. Over the cosmic hi
 story various electro-magnetic components\, extragalactic and coming from 
 our own galaxy\, mix-up together. Our observed CMB maps are the sum of all
  these components and fundamental science goals of upcoming cosmological s
 urveys will only be achieved if we can separate these components in a robu
 st and unbiased way. This Kavli Focus day is dedicated to explore new stat
 istical methods\, including machine learning based ones\, to address this 
 challenge.
