DESCRIPTION:Direct imaging of black hole event horizons ideally requires E
arth-sized telescopes. Although Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) c
an achieve this through aperture synthesis\, it is extremely challenging t
o accurately calibrate and form coherent images from data obtained from te
lescopes spanning Earth-sized separations. I will talk about our group’s
independent approach on using novel interferometric ideas and Deep Learni
ng to robustly reconstruct images from such challenging data.
