DESCRIPTION:Similar to phase transitions\, some properties of entanglement
only sharply emerge in systems with infinitely many degrees of freedom. I
will present recent results providing operational distinctions between va
rious forms of infinite entanglement across quantum information theory\, q
uantum many-body physics\, and quantum field theory. The different ways of
being infinitely entangled are in one-to-one correspondence with the alge
braic type of the von Neumann algebras describing the local systems. I wil
l give an outlook on open problems regarding\, in particular\, the relatio
n between phases of matter and the large-scale structure of entanglement.T
his is joint work with Alexander Stottmeister\, Henrik Wilming and Reinhar
 d F. Werner.
