DESCRIPTION:Quantum Information is at a moment in time when a number of st
 artups\, or more established companies\, are directly hiring researchers t
 o work on research problems.&nbsp\; This session will explore how transfer
 ring to industry from academic might work\, and also what traditional\, or
  not so traditional\, academic careers might look like.&nbsp\; We plan a p
 anel discussion with a variety of programme participants\, each of whom ha
 s a slightly different path in academia\, together with a researcher now w
 orking in industry.&nbsp\; We hope audience members will bring questions!&
 nbsp\; A second informal session will pool collective knowledge about post
 doc opportunities from programme participants.&nbsp\; In particular\, comp
 aring European and North American systems\; again this will be question dr
 iven.&nbsp\; Informal discussions will continue over lunch.\nTea and coffe
 e will be provided from 10:30\, with lunch in the INI foyer at 13:00.\nPan
