DESCRIPTION:Abstract:  After completing his Ph.D. in vehicle dynamics and 
 control in 2000\, David Sampson joined MathWorks as a technical consultant
 .  In the 25 years since\, he has worked with a range of companies\, appli
 cations\, industries and locations\, and contributed to MathWorks products
  for modelling\, simulation\, and software development.  In this talk\, Da
 vid will tell the story of how techniques and tools have evolved\, and hig
 hlight the megatrends that are shaping MathWorks product development.\n\nB
 io:  David Sampson is the Application Engineering Director for Northern Eu
 rope at MathWorks\, the leading developer of mathematical computing softwa
 re for engineers and scientists.  David and his teams work with organizati
 ons using MATLAB and Simulink for technical computing\, simulation\, and m
 odel-based design in industries including automotive\, aerospace and defen
 ce\, communications\, energy production\, and financial services.  David h
 as a Ph.D. in vehicle dynamics and control from Cambridge\, and a B.Eng. i
 n mechanical engineering from Sydney.
