 und digital guru who has spent his careers pushing the transformative powe
 r of modern technology to its limits. From inventing virtual reality and c
 reating the world`s first immersive avatars\, as one of the premier design
 ers at work today he received in 2009 a lifetime achievement award from th
 e IEEE and was named one of the top 100 public intellectuals by Prospect a
 nd Foreign Policy.
