DESCRIPTION:This symposium will explore key factors affecting musicians’
 \nmusical and professional identities as they evolve through the\ncritical
  phase of study in a conservatoire. Research evidence\nrelating to profess
 ional aspirations\, motivation and prior\nlearning will all be addressed\,
  and the relationship between\nthem considered. Presenters come from the U
 K\, the\nNetherlands and Australia. Their work will be used to\nstimulate 
 discussion around curricula and their delivery\nin educating and training
