ylic Acids - Stefano Di Stefano

DESCRIPTION:The increasing interest towards abiotic systems capable of bei
ng maintained in non equilibrium states by means of the consumption of che
mical species\, is motivated by the aspiration to realize artificial netwo
rks with life-like properties. This talk is focused on the use of activate
d carboxylic acids (ACAs) to drive acid-base operated molecular systems to
non-equilibrium states and to control the duration of such states over th
e time. It will be shown that ACAs chemistry finds application in many fie
lds including molecular machines\, dynamic covalent chemistry\, smart mate
 rials and self-assembly.
