DESCRIPTION:In psychometrics\, concepts such as nominal\, ordinal and inte
 rval scaling\, mean\, medium\, mode\, histogram\, cumulative histogram\, s
tandard deviation and normal distribution\, not only need to be fully unde
rstood but also applied in real world settings. They form the fundamental
building blocks for concepts such as error of measurement\, accuracy of es
timation\, treatment effectiveness\, and the relationship between a score
and what it purports to measure. The classical psychometric parameters tha
t assess reliability\, validity\, standardisation and equivalence continue
to play a crucial role in the development and understanding of assessment
. At the end of this session you should know how to assess the reliability
and validity of an assessment\, and the impact on these assessments of co
mplications such as range restriction and attenuation.
