DESCRIPTION:The need for community-viable evidence-based intervention stra
tegies for young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a priorit
y as earlier diagnosis is possible. The Early Social Interaction Project (
ESI) teaches parents of young children with ASD how to embed evidence-base
d intervention strategies and supports in their everyday activities to pro
mote their child's active engagement. Research findings from the NIMH-fund
ed randomized controlled trial of ESI will be presented and illustrated wi
th brief video vignettes. Autism Navigator®\, a collection of web-based c
ourses and tools using extensive video footage\, and our companion website
Baby Navigator to engage families earlier\, will be highlighted.
