DESCRIPTION:Monoidal categories are widely studied in mathematics and comp
 uter science\, but their axiomatisation is too strict for some purposes. A
 mong the weaker varieties\, skew-monoidal categories have seen particular 
 interest and a range of applications. This talk will present the skew vers
 ions of many familiar categorical constructions\, and discuss some elegant
  results that fit naturally in the asymmetric setting of skew categories.
