DESCRIPTION:Steve founded Webb Yates Engineers with Andy Yates in 2005. Si
 nce founding the company\, he has led a number of prestigious\, multi awar
 d-winning projects\, including the Stirling Prize shortlisted 15 Clerkenwe
 ll Close\, The Kantor Centre of Excellence for the Anna Freud Centre\, and
  the Hoover Building. \n\nWhile thriving to make building structures intri
 nsic to architecture\, Steve has pioneered the practice’s approach to in
 novation and sustainability. He is a strong advocate for the use of non-co
 nventional materials to design low carbon structures\, from cast iron to c
 ork\, and from inflatables to stone and timber.\n\nSteve has written exten
 sively for industry publications\, including the Architect's Journal\, Arc
 hitectural Review\, Architecture Today\, and the RIBA Journal. In 2020\, h
 e was awarded the Milne Medal\, for continuously challenging and redefinin
 g what is considered possible in structural design.
