DESCRIPTION:Recent progress in laser cooling and trapping of atomic\nvapou
rs have led to the experimental realization of some extensions of\nthe cel
ebrated BCS model describing weakly attractive fermions. In\nthis talk we
will discuss recent results at ENS on the thermodynamics\nof strongly attr
active Fermi gases with imbalanced spin populations.\nWe will show in part
icular how these experiments have unveiled the\nFermi liquid nature of the
normal phase of these systems and allowed\nfor a precise measurement of t
he renormalized effective parameters\ncharacterizing the associated quasi
-particles. We will demonstrate\nhow these parameters can be fairly accura
tely calculated by the study\nof an impurity immersed in a Fermi Sea (the
 N+1 body problem).
