DESCRIPTION:The Hubble tension hints at a missing ingredient in the standa
rd cosmological model describing the universe around the epoch of recombin
ation. A stochastic magnetic field\, if present in the plasma prior to las
t scattering\, would induce baryon inhomogeneities and speed up the recomb
ination process\, reducing the sound horizon at last scattering and potent
ially helping to relieve the Hubble tension. I will review this proposal a
nd provide an update on its current status.\n
