SUMMARY:LMB Seminar - How the physical sciences can empower biology: Appli
cations of single molecule fluorescence to the biosciences - David Klenerm
 an\, University of Cambridge
DTSTART:20251103T110000Z
DTEND:20251103T120000Z

CONTACT:Scientific Meetings Co-ordinator
DESCRIPTION:The capability to image single molecules has revolutionised bi
ology. I will explain how these methods work and how we are currently app
lying them to study the molecular basis of neurodegenerative disease. Last
ly I will describe how our early single molecule work on DNA polymerase
led to the development of next generation DNA sequencing\, now widely use
d\, and the lessons that can be learnt from this experience.
LOCATION:In person in the Max Perutz Lecture Theatre (CB2 0QH) and via Zoo
