DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will discuss recent joint work with Jack Davies
 \, in which we construct a lift of the classical Tate elliptic curve to sp
 ectral algebraic geometry. I will highlight how this construction cruciall
 y uses the close interplay between equivariant stable homotopy theory and 
 spectral algebraic geometry. I will also discuss consequences of our const
 ruction for both of these areas.\n&nbsp\;
