DESCRIPTION:This lecture is a celebration of arguably the greatest scienti
fic revolution to date: the invention of quantum mechanics just over 100 y
ears ago. Unlike their more simplistic precursors\, the theories developed
by Heisenberg\, Schr&ouml\;dinger and Dirac applied to highly complex sys
tems\, leading to a vast number of technological breakthroughs that contin
ue to shape our modern world. After presenting a few historic highlights\,
the lecture will focus on the question of chaos in quantum systems\, and
some of the beautiful discoveries made by physicists and mathematicians ov
 er the past decades.
