DESCRIPTION:In this talk we will introduce the quantised enveloping algebr
 a of sl_2\, the building block for one of the families of Hopf algebras te
 rmed "quantum groups". We will then classify the finite dimensional repres
 entations of this algebra (which splits into two cases)\, and also prove c
 omplete reducibility in one of these instances. This talk may assume some 
 knowledge of the representation theory of Lie algebras but otherwise shoul
 d be very accessible.\n
