DESCRIPTION:Analytical works as well as high-resolution simulations are us
 ed today to study the evolution of disc galaxies.\nThe open questions of t
 he origins and evolutions of so-called flocculent and grand-design spiral 
 galaxies\nare yet still not completely answered.\nBy using current computa
 tional resources\, we have studied which relevant mechanisms for the discs
  are numerically realizable today. Thereby\, we have mainly focused on the
  production and evolution of classical density waves.\nIn my talk\, I will
  show a few examples that highlight the difficulty of producing classical 
 density waves with current simulations. In addition\, I will discuss the c
 onsequences of our result in respect of earlier interpretations of numeric
 al results.
