DESCRIPTION:Recent writings on organ and tissue donation have encountered
comparisons of all kinds – from donor’s kin comparing transplant with
adoption to medical substitutions of one tissue with another. In an\nexpl
oratory manner\, this lecture asks what kind of interpretive challenge ver
nacular comparisons pose to the interested anthropologist. Does it make a
difference that they address ‘matters of concern’?\n
