DESCRIPTION:A folk-theorem says that there is no free lunch\, but that mig
 ht not be true. We give an outline of a program of Pardon to phrase the co
 nstruction of moduli spaces in the language of moduli functors/moduli stac
 ks. This allows one to bypass some of the technical difficulties of other 
 approaches. In particular\, proving that under suitable conditions the mod
 uli space is a (derived) smooth manifold is considerably simplified by thi
 s approach.
