DESCRIPTION:N7-methylguanosine (m7G) modification of tRNAs is crucial for 
 proper folding and stability of the cellular tRNA pool. It is catalyzed by
  METTL1\, a methyltransferase overexpressed in a large proportion of malig
 nancies and a promising target for therapeutic purposes. Despite its criti
 cal role in cell proliferation\, there is a substantial number of cancers 
 insensitive to METTL1 inhibition and its genetic abrogation. Helena will p
 resent her progress towards the characterization of molecular pathways und
 erlaying METTL1 resistance in human cancer cells.
