DESCRIPTION:Maurizio Corbetta\, Professor of Neurology\, University of Pad
ova will speak on: ‘Architecture and function of spontaneous brain activ
ity in health and pathology.’\n\nBiography\n\nMaurizio Corbetta is a neu
rologist interested in the organization of the brain\, cognition\, and neu
rological recovery following injuries. Corbetta has identified two brain n
etworks associated with healthy attention and has provide a pathophysiolog
ical model of spatial neglect. Corbetta has focused on understanding the f
unctional organization of brain networks employing a combination of fMRI\,
electroencephalography (EEG)\, and magnetoencephalography (MEG). Finally\
, Corbetta has shown that focal brain injuries can lead to widespread func
tional brain network abnormalities\, which in turn explain behavioral defi
cits and recovery processes. Maurizio Corbetta is Professor and Chair of N
eurology at the University of Padova\, and Emeritus Professor at the Washi
ngton University St.Louis. He is also the Founding Director of the Padova
Neuroscience Center\, a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to Sys
tems\, Computational\, and Circuit Neuroscience. He is a Highly Cited Rese
archer by Clarivate\, and member of the Academia dei Lincei. He serves as
coordinator of the ERC Synergy project NEMESIS aimed at understanding the
circuit mechanisms of stroke and their modulation through non-invasive sti
mulation\, and he will coordinate clinical neuroscience research in EBRAIN
S.\n---\n\nCambridge Neuroscience invites you to join colleagues for this
joint seminar series from the Department of Clinical Neurosciences\, the D
epartment of Psychiatry\, and the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit.\n
\nThe event takes place in the seminar room of the Herchel Smith Building
on the Forvie Site at the Biomedical Campus. The talk will be followed by
a reception.\n\nPlease do reserve your free seat through the following eve
