DESCRIPTION:If a new generation of nuclear reactors are to be deployed\, i
t is essential to improve their economic competitiveness\, by reducing cap
ital cost and/or maximizing the value of their generated heat & power. Thi
s talk will give an overview of a few different projects at UW-Madison wit
h the central theme of designing new components & systems to enhance the
flexibility and cost competitive of nuclear fission reactors. \nBio\nProf.
Ben Lindley graduated from CUED with an MEng and PhD\, before working as
a reactor physicist for Wood/Jacobs. In 2020 he joined UW-Madison’s Depa
rtment of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics as Assistant Professor
of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics.\nWATCH REMOTELY: \nMS Tea
