DESCRIPTION:Seiko is a remarkable company.  Since 1881 they have designed\
 , built\, manufactured and sold almost every type\, size and style of wris
 twatch - including integrated TVs\, computers\, and a wide variety of disp
 lay technologies.  Today\, Seiko leads the world with with their Kinetic a
 nd Spring Drive technologies.  This talk covers the history of Seiko\, and
  its world-leading technologies.\n\nMark Mills is Technical Advisor for Se
 iko UK as well as Seiko Regional Technical Instructor for the Europe Regio
 n.  After leaving school in 1968 Mark has worked continuously in the horol
 ogical world starting with a 7-year watchmaking apprenticeship.  He has wo
 rked on all manner of clocks\, from the humble wristwatch to turret clocks
 \, alarms\, mechanical and quartz watches.\n\nHe is a Fellow of the Britis
 h Horological Institute.  He joined the Board of the BHI in 1996\, and has
  held the positions of Director of Education\, Vice Chairman\, and Chairma
 n in 2007.
