DESCRIPTION:Darwin's Theory has provoked a wide range of reactions from co
mplete\nrejection to enthusiastic embrace. While the intensity of oppositi
on\nfrom some theologians and religious contemporaries is well known\, the
\nextent of support for religion for evolution and natural selection\nfrom
other clerical and religious contemporaries has not been\nadequately reco
gnised. Darwin advanced his theory as a form of\ntheistic evolution and th
e acceptance of his achievement is symbolised\nby the State Funeral accord
ed to him in Westminster Abbey.
