DESCRIPTION:In my talk\, I will present two recent results:\n\n1) I will s
 how that by properly calibrating the astrometry in Stripe82 dataset one ca
 n improve the precision of proper motions by a factor of two (down to 1.5m
 as/yr)\, thereby significantly increasing the information content of the c
 atalogue.\n\n2) I will also demonstrate that still widely used cross-corre
 lation method to derive radial velocities of the resolved stellar populati
 ons (especially based on IRAF fxcor routine) should in fact NEVER be used 
 because the precision of it is up to two times worse than the simple chi-s
 quared fitting of the spectra.
