DESCRIPTION:We present a holographic description of four-dimensional singl
 e-scalar\ninflationary universes in terms of a three-dimensional quantum f
 ield theory.\nThe holographic description correctly reproduces standard in
 flationary\npredictions in their regime of applicability. In the opposite 
 case\, wherein\ngravity is strongly coupled at early times\, we propose a 
 holographic\ndescription in terms of perturbative QFT and present models c
 apable of\nsatisfying the current observational constraints while exhibiti
 ng a\nphenomenology distinct from standard inflation. This provides a qual
 itatively\nnew method for generating a nearly scale-invariant spectrum of 
 primordial\ncosmological perturbations.
