DESCRIPTION:The Roman invasion of Britain in the 1st century AD generated
an interesting mix of cultural attitudes\, which eventually led to a Roman
o-British identity made of the combination of indigenous and introduced el
ements. Food and meat played an important role in this process. In this ta
lk\, I will discuss how meat consumption contributed to the shaping of Rom
ano-British culture and how it changed through the four centuries of Roman
occupation.\n\nThe link to join the lecture online is here: https://teams
