DESCRIPTION:Strong empirical evidence demonstrates that a communicative te
 chnological extraterrestrial is unlikely to exist now within ~500 light-ye
 ars of Earth or to have passed within ~100 light-years of Earth during the
  past few billion years. The evidence is based on numerous sky surveys at 
 various electromagnetic wavelengths that date back ~100 years\, and on the
  absence of an alien probe in Earth orbit.
