DESCRIPTION:Gravitational wave signals from coalescing binary black holes 
 are\n detected\, and analyzed\, by using large banks of template waveforms
 .\n The construction of these templates makes an essential use of\n the an
 alytical knowledge of the motion and radiation of\n gravitationally intera
 cting binary systems.  A new angle of attack\n on gravitational dynamics c
 onsists of considering\n(classical or quantum) scattering states. Recent r
 esults obtained\nby such scattering approaches will be reviewed.
