DESCRIPTION:The F_p-cohomology of p-adic Lie groups is well understood\, b
 y work of Lazard\, under a condition known as "uniformity". However\, many
  examples of number-theoretic interest\, such as GL_n(Z_p) or its Iwahori 
 subgroups\, do not satisfy this condition. I will report on recent joint w
 ork with Bao V. Le Hung\, in which we compute the F_p-cohomology of GL_n(Z
 _p) and more general unramified reductive groups over Z_p\, and describe a
  connection between our results and the categorical form of the mod p loca
 l Langlands correspondence.
