DESCRIPTION:From a particular psychoanalytic perspective this talk will be
a free association to Mannocci’s inspiring exhibitions: _The Angel and
The Virgin_ and _Clouds and Myths_. Freud discovered the unconscious and W
innicott showed how the early mother-infant relationship impacted on our s
ense of self. The ‘good enough mother’ ‘ordinary devotion’ and
‘primary creativity’ are some of the concepts pertinent to the themes
emanating from Mannocci’s work. We may also wonder what hidden themes ar
e alluded to in the narrative of The Annunciation that concern the persona
 l history of each individual.
