DESCRIPTION:Disability\, as defined by the United Nations\, encompasses lo
 ng-term physical\, mental\, intellectual\, or sensory impairments that int
eract with societal and physical barriers\, hindering equal participation
in society. In universities\, up to 28% of students disclose disabilities\
, and 17% of the population will acquire a disability during their working
lives.\n\nVarious technologies\, supported by initiatives like reasonable
adjustments\, library programs\, and the Disabled Students’ Allowance i
n the UK\, aid learners with disabilities. The Access to Work Scheme furth
er supports educators with disabilities in maintaining employment. The Bib
le mentions several examples of individuals with disabilities throughout t
he old and new testaments.\n\nThis session will explore what the Bible say
s about our social response to disability and how this relates to the use
of technology in removing barriers. It will touch on some current conversa
tions on disability\, particularly in the context of learning.
