DESCRIPTION:In October 2009 Cambridge University Eco Racing (CUER) took on
  teams from across the world in the Global Green Challenge\, a 3\,000km jo
 urney across Australia for solar-powered cars. Racing across a barren cont
 inent using nothing but the power of the sun\, makes for an inspirational 
 spectacle\, but what can the engineering industry learn from development o
 f these highly-specialised vehicles? This talk will explore the relevance 
 of solar car technologies\, illustrated using the experiences of the Cambr
 idge team.  Guests will also be invited to view CUER's 2009 car\, Endeavou
 r\, recently returned from the Australian outback.
